Honoring Retiring MPCP Physicians: Dr. Levine, Dr. Conger & Dr. Jett

Honoring a Legacy of Care: Celebrating the Retirements of Dr. Levine, Dr. Conger, and Dr. Jett

At Maryland Primary Care Physicians, long-term relationships are at the heart of everything we do. That includes the relationships our physicians build with patients, colleagues, and the communities they serve.

As we recognize the retirements of Dr. Jerry Levine, Dr. Bruce Conger, and Dr. Patricia Jett, we want to pause and celebrate careers defined not just by years of service, but by presence, leadership, and genuine care. Each of these physicians helped shape MPCP in meaningful ways, and their impact will continue to be felt long after they step into their next chapters.

After more than four decades in medicine, Dr. Jerry Levine leaves behind a legacy rooted in compassion, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to patients. Since beginning his career in 1980, Dr. Levine played a key role in the growth of primary care in Howard County and helped guide MPCP through years of change while keeping patient experience front and center.

Throughout his career, Dr. Levine served in leadership roles and was deeply invested in MPCP’s mission to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Colleagues often describe his approach as steady, thoughtful, and grounded in empathy. For Dr. Levine, medicine was never just about diagnosis or treatment. It was about making people feel seen, heard, and cared for.

“It has been my privilege to have been part of Maryland Primary Care Physicians over these many years. Having held leadership roles throughout my career, I am deeply gratified to have contributed to our mission of delivering excellence in high-quality healthcare to our patients. It has been an honor to grow both professionally and personally alongside colleagues whom I greatly respected and will continue to cherish as friends. In caring for patients, I have learned that they may not always remember what you say or even what you do, but they will always remember how you made them feel. Our highest goal as clinicians is to show that we truly care.”

— Dr. Jerry Levine

That philosophy was felt by those who worked alongside him every day.

“Working with you through CareFirst and now directly at MPCP has been one of the highlights of my nursing career. You have always been so kind and patient. I have learned so much from the way you care for each and every one of your patients. Your dedication will not be forgotten.”

— Diana McKevitt, Clinical Care Coordinator

As Dr. Levine enters retirement, he leaves MPCP stronger for having been part of its story. You can read more about Dr. Levine’s legacy in his spotlight profile in the Baltimore Sun.

Reflecting on his career, Dr. Conger has shared how deeply grateful he is for the relationships formed along the way and for the opportunity to practice medicine as a calling rather than simply a profession.

“Practicing medicine has always been more than just a profession. I have had the privilege of getting to know you and being present with you in times of happiness and loss, worry and relief, illness and recovery. That trust is something I have never taken for granted.”
