Dr. Saliba joined Maryland Primary Care Physicians Specialty Department in 2026. Before becoming an endocrinologist, she practiced as a dietitian, which influences how she cares for patients today. She believes that nutrition plays an important role in preventing and managing chronic conditions and works with patients to develop care plans tailored to their individual needs.
Much of Dr. Saliba’s nutrition training focused on weight management. Her experience working with patients inspired her to pursue medicine so she could advocate for people living with obesity and help address the stigma they may experience in healthcare.
Today, she brings both perspectives to her work in endocrinology. She is especially interested in diabetes and obesity care, including the growing use of GLP-1 medications. She believes dietitians and other healthcare professionals can play an important role in helping patients using these medications maintain muscle and bone health, manage side effects, and support their overall health.
Listening First: One of the most important lessons Dr. Saliba has learned is to “truly listen to what your patients have to say.” She takes time to understand her patients’ concerns and wants them to feel safe asking questions and discussing their health.
Working Together: “Shared decision-making, transparency, multidisciplinary care, and individualization of care are essential.” Her goal is for patients to understand their care and feel like an active part of the process.
Team-Based Care: Dr. Saliba shares, “I incorporate multidisciplinary care. I advocate for the role of ancillary health providers in the care of my patients.”
Outside the Office: Dr. Saliba loves learning languages and has recently taken up gardening. Her front-yard herb garden is still going strong!
Favorite Place She’s Traveled: She loves South Korea because of its food, culture, welcoming people, and the opportunity to practice her Korean. She’s also a fan of taekwondo.
Exploring Maryland: New to the area, Dr. Saliba enjoys the Columbia Association gyms and concerts at Merriweather Post Pavilion and is looking forward to discovering more local favorites.
Inspired By: “My parents. They have been through many hardships and are still the most loving and strongest people I know.”
