Maryland Primary Care Physicians Hosts Johns Hopkins Hubert H. Humphrey Fellows
 
 
On Friday November 20, 2009 Maryland Primary Care Physicians hosted an international group of doctors and health care professionals in the U.S. for a year of focused professional training. A presentation on “Delivering Health Care in an Electronic World”, was given to the group, which includes individuals from Ghana, Myanmar, Iraq and Afghanistan. This is the 5th year that MPCP has hosted a contingent of Hubert H. Humphrey Fellows, which has produced a rich exchange of information involving the business of medicine with health care professionals from many diverse cultures.

The Humphrey Fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health focuses on professional development of fellows specializing in intersections between drug dependence and infectious disease epidemiology and prevention, and issues related to international maternal and child health. In existence since 1988, the Humphrey program is carried out within the framework created by the World Health Organization. This program provides professional development and training to Fellows on relevant information from around the world through formal course work, special seminars and short-term professional orientation visits.
